1. User manual for Equipment owners

There are four main tasks crew and equipment owners should know how to do in Equip. They will all contribute to a faster inspection by the inspection company. 

Add new equipment to the system when it arrives to the rig, Discard equipment that no longer will be used, Close findings and finally Update hierarchy information. 

This document will describe these main activities in step by step guides. In addition, please note that the complete overview of Group, Sub-group and Item type is attached in this document. If you are unfamiliar with Equip we strongly recommend that you reference this lists.


  1. Step by step guide for main activities in Equip

The following guides will show you how to use the main activities in Equip. By keeping Equip up to date Axess will spend less time performing annual inspections. All the guides require you to have a user in Equip (can be requested on this page https://bridge.axess.no/) and that you navigate to the correct installation and open Equip.



  1. Adding new equipment

When new equipment arrives at the rig – please take the time to add it and the relevant documentation to Equip.

  1. Identify the correct Group, Sub group and Item type in the attached overview of the hierarchy.
  2. Navigate to the Equipment menu Click the “+ equipment” button

  1. An “Add Equipment” dialogue box will open, and you fill in the relevant information and add documents/attachments such as certificate. If you have a picture of the equipment you can add that too.
  2. When you have added all necessary information click “OK” at the bottom of the dialogue box and it will be saved to Equip


  1. Discard Equipment

When equipment is taken out of use it should be discarded in Equip – this way Axess will not spend time on looking for equipment no longer in use.

  1. Find the relevant equipment. This can be done either by navigating in the hierarchy on the left or by filtering on the top menu. In addition, one can use the search function. All options are highlighted in the screen shot below. Please note that you should click “[view all]” to see all equipment and remember to click one of the “Reset filters” buttons also shown in the drawing when you are done searching.

  1.  When you find the equipment you want to discard, select it by clicking the “Id” link. 

  1. Once selected the Equipment information window opens and you get a button called “Discard” on the left side. When you click this, you will get a warning that you need to confirm that you actually want to discard this equipment. Once you click “OK” to confirm the equipment will be discarded.


 

  1. Close finding

If you have the permission on your user to close findings you will see a button called “Edit/Close finding” on equipment with open findings added by Axess during periodical inspection.

  1. Navigate to equipment with findings – there are several shortcuts on the front page to different finding categories or you will see the status in the equipment menu.
  2.  Click the “Edit/Clos finding button. If you want to close a finding you click the “Resolved” check box and add a comment. Make sure to write your comment in way that will allow the Axess to verify it easily during next periodical inspection. You can also add the work order number from your internal system.


  1. Update hierarchy information

Axess decided to update the Equipment hierarchy Q1 2019. We updated the hierarchy to improve correspondence with naming in the most used rules and regulations and to include new item types to the list. The new hierarchy has more items then the old one which causes some equipment to end up weird places. Axess will update relevant equipment and place it in the correct Group, Sub-group and Item type during annual inspection, but you can help us with this as well to increase our efficiency when offshore.

If you find a piece of equipment placed in an incorrect place such as the crane below follow the steps.

  1. This Palfinger crane is currently located under Cranes – Other cranes – Misc. Not completely incorrect but we now have a dedicated item type for this crane.

  1. The correct category would be Cranes / Other cranes / Loader cranes – fixed. If you click the edit icon on the crane you will get this dialogue box. Select the “Item type” dropdown and select Loader cranes – fixed. Then click OK. This will place this crane in the correct Group, Sub-group and Item type. 

 

  1.  There is also set up a warning system on several of the item types in Equip that asks the user to verify that the equipment is in the correct Group, Sub-group and Item type. This will show up once per affected item as shown below. Once verified it will never show again.
